Asia AgriTech Challenge 2020 Grand Winner
The ASIA AGRI-TECH CHALLENGE powered by the VCB-N wants to trigger innovation in the use of ICT along the value chains and provide successful innovations in their prototyping / testing phase a platform to showcase their products. The challenge functions at the same time as a matchmaking event between developers and providers of innovative ICT solutions and chain actors or supporters looking for ways to improve the chain functioning and making it more resilient and future-proof. Village Link won the Grand Winner Award for the track: "Information Technology Innovation in Support of Rural Advisory Services"
ASEAN-Korea Startup Week 2020
The ASEAN-Korea Centre, jointly with the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (GCCEI), named the four most outstanding companies, Dec. 3, in an annual project to support startups from ASEAN and Korea with the goal to encourage investment and mutual growth. The month-long project was held online in compliance with social distancing regulations, with break periods in between to help the organizers to better find prospective startups. The four ― Village Link from Myanmar, Coconut Silo from Korea, DocLink from Indonesia and Shopping-D from Laos ― were picked among 22 finalists of the 2020 ASEAN-Korea Startup Week: Online Challenge. The top-placed Village Link won the Diamond Award and $10,000 prize money, runner-up Coconut Silo with the Platinum Award and $5,000, DocLink with the Gold Award and $3,000 and Shopping-D with the Silver Award and $2,000.
Microsoft's Emerge-X Winner for Myanmar 2020
The Emerge X Program sits within Microsoft’s Highway to a 100 Unicorns initiative, which discovers and nurtures high potential technology startups & grows the ecosystem in emerging markets across APAC. Village Link emerged as one of the winners from Myanmar to compete in the Philippines for the Grand Final in this program but did not make the cut for the top four.
Asia Smart Apps Awards 2020
The Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA), follows up on the fruitful Asia Smart Apps Contests, organizes the Asia Smart App Awards (ASA) 2020, the 7th Edition of the award scheme, with funding support from Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. By uniting 15 co-organizers from Cambodia (New Participant), Israel, India (New Participant), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mainland, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka ,Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, the WTIA carries this auspicious occasion to further encourage the development of the expanding smart application industry. Village Link’s Htwet Toe app was one of the Merit Award Recipients at this program.
ASEAN's Best Food Tech or Agritech Startup at ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards (2019)
Rice Bowl Awards celebrates the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem. It is organised by the New Entrepreneurs Foundation. The Awards reward innovation, excellence, and best practice in startups across the region. It also recognizes the excitement, risk, and hard-work involved in developing a startup and the influence each person has on driving the success of their company. Rice Bowl puts the spotlight on model entrepreneurship
and inspires a dynamic community of startup enthusiasts, serial entrepreneurs, policymakers, and diverse mentors in tech innovation. Village Link was the only startup among the Myanmar nominees to win an ASEAN award in the fifth iteration of the Awards. This is also the first regional win for Myanmar at the annual awards ceremony since its inauguration.
